This policy explains how Orantek Ltd, trading as Screenshelf ("we", "us"), collects and uses personal data when you visit screenshelf.ie, open a trade account or buy from us. We are the data controller.

1. What we collect

Order and account details: name, business name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number, order history and any notes or PO references you add.

Trade account details: business name, contact details, VAT number and the information you give in the trade application form.

Payment details: payments are handled by our payment providers (Shopify Payments / Stripe, PayPal and Revolut). We do not see or store your full card number.

Messages: what you send us by email, phone, live chat, WhatsApp or our part sourcing and contact forms.

Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, search terms and how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar technology (see our Cookie Policy).

Newsletter and stock alerts: your email address if you sign up for new stock emails or a back-in-stock alert.
2. How and why we use it

To take and deliver your order, send confirmations and invoices, handle returns and warranty claims (to perform our contract with you).

To run trade accounts, check eligibility, apply trade pricing and validate EU VAT numbers (contract and legal obligation).

To keep records for tax and accounting (legal obligation).

To prevent fraud and keep the site secure (legitimate interests).

To improve the site, search and our range using analytics (consent, where cookies are used).

To send marketing emails about new stock and offers, only where you have signed up or are an existing customer and have not opted out. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
3. Who we share it with
We only share personal data with service providers who help us run the business, under contracts that protect your data:
- Shopify (our e-commerce platform and checkout)
- Payment providers: Shopify Payments / Stripe, PayPal, Revolut
- Delivery partners: UPS and An Post (name, address, phone and email for delivery updates)
- Google (Analytics and Ads), if you accept analytics or marketing cookies
- Reviews.io (to invite you to review your order), Luigi's Box (site search), Mida (site analytics and fraud prevention)
- BSS Commerce (trade account and trade pricing app), live chat and WhatsApp chat providers
- Our accountants, and authorities where the law requires it
We never sell your personal data.
4. Transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area (for example in Canada or the United States). Where they do, the transfer is protected by an EU adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required by Irish tax law. Trade account details are kept while your account is open and for six years after it closes. Marketing sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Other data is deleted when it is no longer needed.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Email sales@screenshelf.ie and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).
7. Children
Our site is for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
